The Virgen del Galir winery was founded in 2002, in a valley of the Galir River, in Éntoma, a small village in Orense, Galicia. Located in the middle of the Camino de Santiago, it belongs to the D.O Valdeorras.
This almost forgotten region has some extraordinary vineyards. Virgen del Galir is supplied by its 20 hectares of vineyards, almost the same number of plots. At more than 600 metres above sea level.
Slate and decomposed granite soils in terraced terraces.
The climate is continental with an Atlantic influence, with a rainfall of 700 to 1,000 mm per year, depending on the area. Winters are cold and summers are quite warm.
