A mosaic of wine-growing identities
In the Avia Valley, in the province of Ourense, Alma de Carraovejas has landed to give continuity to a small but great wine project.
On the granite-sculpted hillsides of Ribeiro, they have found a new treasure to guard. 14 plots of typical Galician smallholdings comprising some 18 hectares of land provide the raw material for a small winery that seeks to produce traditional and precise wines with the utmost respect for the Atlantic personality of its vineyards.
Low yields, controlled yields with exceptionally short pruning, respect for the environment and once in the winery a philosophy aimed at seeking the identity of the area without too much prominence from the oenology.
Tasty, fresh reds and crisp, open-fruited whites like few others in the area.
A witness of two great projects such as Viña Mein and Emilio Rojo that continue their journey with the help of a young team determined to put Ribeiro in the place it deserves.
