A family fully dedicated to wine
Bodegas Torres is a family winery located in Villafranca del Panadés. Founded in 1870 by the brothers Jaime and Miguel Torres, it is currently the winery with the largest extension of vineyards in the Penedés Denomination of Origin.
Its headquarters are located in Villafranca del Penedés and it currently has more than 1,300 hectares of vineyards and is present in around 150 countries. In addition to the Penedés D.O., it also has vineyards in other designations of origin such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Rueda.
It was in 1928 when the distillation of wines and the ageing of its now famous brandies began. It was in 1980 when the winemaking process began to improve, optimising the fermentation processes and using grapes from vines with lower yields, but with greater control. The wine ageing process was also improved, where the importance of the grape tannins began to be emphasised over those coming from the wood.
