Wines with structure and elegance

Sheltered by the cold winds of the Rioja Alavesa, in the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria and with the exceptional setting of the medieval town of Laguardia, the Solar Viejo winery has been making wines with the personality of the Rioja Designation of Origin for more than 75 years.

The original winery was founded in one of the emblematic ancestral homes of Laguardia, within the walled enclosure of the town. It was there that the first Solar Viejo, the winery's most iconic wine, was produced. The current facilities, built more than 30 years ago, are located in the vicinity of the town and retain the essence of that first experience.

Vineyards that integrate the expressiveness of a land demanding good wine, a traditional winemaking method and the incorporation of new technologies are the three pillars on which the Solar Viejo winery is based, a reference for the oldest D.O. in Spain.
