Mexico's No. 1 tequila

For more than two and a half centuries Jose Cuervo has been dedicated to making tequila from the largest agave plantation in the world. This two hundred year old bodega began in the lands surrounding the foothills of the Tequila Volcano.

In the mid-1800s, barrels of Jose Cuervo began to be exported from San Blas to California. Later, the brand would become the first to bottle tequila in individual bottles, which made it much easier to transport and helped supply the growing demand in Mexico and across the border.

In 1974, the appellation of origin was created, according to which, for a distillate to be called tequila, it must be made in certain Mexican states. Today, Jose Cuervo is the world's leading tequila.
