Pure magic of the Rioja Alavesa
Bodegas Izadi was founded in 1987 by Gonzalo Anton, who, together with a group of friends and businessmen from Vitoria, created an innovative project in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa.
Villabuena de Álava was the town chosen to build an innovative winery focused on the production of quality wines. At the same time, the incorporation of new winemaking techniques and its great desire for continuous improvement created its own style that has been consolidated over time.
In the year 2000, with the incorporation of Lalo Anton, the Artevino group was born, which promoted sales abroad, as well as the expansion of the company, which, under the name of Artevino, took on the projects of Finca Villacreces (D.O. Ribera del Duero), Bodegas Vetus (D.O. Toro) and Orben (D.O.Ca. Rioja).
Izadi has 178 hectares of vineyards in micro-plots located in the triangle formed by the villages of Villabuena, Samaniego and Ábalos. The vineyards, which are around fifty years old, are planted on poor soils that provide low yields and small but high quality grapes, which represent the typical characteristics of the area and the variety.
