Wines that leave no one indifferent
Bodegas Honorio Rubio is a family-owned winery with a limited production capacity, located in Cordovín (La Rioja), near Haro and next to San Millán de la Cogolla.
The winery has accredited vineyards in different areas of La Rioja Alta and also controls the production of more than 50 hectares from local winegrowers who traditionally supply their selection of grapes to the winery.
The main varieties are Tempranillo and Garnacha for the reds, as well as Viura and Garnacha for the clarets. The vineyard has an average age of 35 years; the youngest are over 15 years old. The vineyard is controlled by the technical management of the winery, which supervises all the plots.
Practically the entire production is planted in soils formed by clay and sandstone of reddish tones with alluvial bottoms, the characteristic "cascajo", at an altitude of between 580 and 650 metres, favoured by an annual rainfall of between 350-600 mm.
