A winery with history
The Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri is a former estate of the Monastery of Toloño. In 1967 Jaime Rodríguez Solís began an exciting winemaking adventure by rebuilding what was once the property of the Hieronymite monks and renovating the vineyard with native varieties.
Today it has 150 hectares, 105 of which constitute a restored vineyard, the origin of the Remelluri wines (Reserva, Gran Reserva and Alta Expresión). Within the estate there is a High Medieval necropolis and a cave wine press, perhaps the oldest wine-growing remains in the area.
Cultivation is organic, the fields are not treated with systemic products or herbicides and the use of biodynamic treatments allows the typicality of a privileged and historic enclave in Rioja to be enhanced.
