Enate

Enate is one of the leading and driving wineries in the Somontano area of Aragon. A historic winery with decades of experience working the vineyards in the Barbastro area and managing to perfect the identity of its reds with Bordeaux varieties and probably some of the best whites in Aragon.

THE ART OF WINE, THE WINE OF ART.

Enate was founded in 1991 with the aim of producing wines of the highest quality within the Somontano Designation of Origin. To this end, the winery serves as a physical bridge between the art of the vineyard and the art of man.

The Enate winery occupies a surface area of more than 12,000 m2. Of these, 1,500 m2 house 4,000 barrels (70% French oak and 30% American oak) and 3,200 m2 are used for bottle ageing, with a capacity for more than 4 million units.
All of the winery's plots are located in municipalities belonging to the Somontano D.O. in the province of Huesca.  The special conditions of Somontano make it an excellent place for growing grapes.

The following grape varieties are grown in this winery: white grapes (Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay), red grapes (Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah). The international varieties introduced in the second half of the 20th century have shown an exceptional adaptation to their environment, which is why they play a major role in the production of its wines.

The winery develops a high quality viticulture based on four essential points: precision viticulture, respect for the environment, low yields per hectare and optimal harvesting conditions. It follows the principles of the least interventionist oenology, combining ancestral practices with the most avant-garde techniques.

The winery takes wine tourism very seriously and visiting Enate is an experience in itself, as in addition to visiting a winery, you are also visiting a museum. Enate's contemporary art collection is very attractive with works by numerous national and international artists. Moreover, since its beginnings, the label of each of its wines has been created by a different artist, the first one being the one created by Antonio Saura for the barrel fermented ENATE Chardonnay.
