One of the areas of Spain with the longest winemaking tradition.
Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico was founded in 2002 with the aim of uniting the winemaking heritage of Alberto Orte and Patrick Mata. Both have been producing wine independently throughout Spain since the late 1800s.
It currently produces wines from 18 different appellations within the Iberian Peninsula. CVA's goal is to craft wines that express the identity of the place they come from. Over the years, the search for great vineyard-sites that consistently produce wines of superior quality compared to neighbouring vineyards.
The identification of indigenous varieties from old vines in high altitude vineyards lying on balanced low yielding soil is the main compass in the selection of the raw material that is used to craft quality artisanal wines.
