Bodegas Rodero is a family winery founded by Carmelo himself. Originally from the area and belonging to the fourth generation of winegrowers, at a very early age it was clear to him that he wanted to found his own winery and he started buying land and planting vines when he was just 16 years old.
Today Carmelo's daughters, Beatriz and María, with their work in the bodega and their passion for wine, ensure the continuity of the family tradition.
Carmelo Rodero is located in Pedrosa de Duero, in the province of Burgos. The bodega owns 140 hectares of vineyards in the surrounding area. This vineyard is the great asset of the winery, it is located between 750 and 900 metres above sea level and the average age is about 30 years, combining younger vines with vines that reach 100 vintages.
The continental climate with a slight Atlantic influence is very favourable for vine growing. Dry summers and long, harsh winters with marked temperature fluctuations contribute to the health and strength of the vines against disease and to the perfect ripening of the grapes.
Another of the keys to the quality of their wines is the patented winemaking method, which combines tradition with the most advanced technologies. A vinification that pampers the grapes, always working by gravity, without pumping.
Bodegas Rodero has a wide range of products, from the youngest and most intense to the most complex, structured and elegant, with an overwhelming maturity.
A set of signature wines that captivate with their character and personality. Wines with soul that also persuade the critics and that are very well rated, reaching more than 90 points in all their range both with Peñin and Parker.
