A reference winery in the whole world
The Beronia winery was founded in 1973 by a group of businessmen, friends among themselves, and in 1982 it became part of the "González Byass Family of Wineries". Nowadays, Beronia is a Spanish winery of reference both nationally and internationally.
Bodegas Beronia is located in Ollauri in the heart of the Rioja Alta. In this area, we find different microclimates depending on the orientation of the vineyard and the protection from the winds of the Ebro Valley. The soils are the best for quality viticulture, and have a balanced structure of sand, sediment and clay, being slightly alkaline and poor. La Rioja offers a great variety of "terroirs", which give great complexity to the wines and a marked differentiating character.
The winery has an average age of 30 years in its vineyards, although it has pre-phylloxera vines over 100 years old and also very young vines, planted in the spring of 2011.
85% of Beronia's vineyards are planted with the queen grape of the D.O.Ca., Tempranillo, although they also have vineyards of Graciano, Mazuelo, Garnacha and Viura.
