Wines with a soul of their own
The winery founded in 1941 by Modesto Álvarez Romero and Eladio Díez Ossorio was the starting point for the history of this winery.
In 1977, Mr. Enrique J. de Benito began a profound restructuring process based on a change of business philosophy. The current facilities of the winery were built and equipped with the most modern winemaking techniques of the time to produce quality, modern wines based on the native Verdejo grape variety.
In 1992, his son Juan de Benito became managing director and thus began a second phase for the house, based on the same business philosophy and setting in motion a new updating and modernisation of the company, which continued with the incorporation of Álvaro de Benito (brother of the former) to the team in 2001.
The winery is currently equipped with technology that allows it to vinify more than 2 million kilograms of white grapes. For the fermentations they use stainless steel tanks, always below 17ºC, with which they obtain fresh, fruity, harmonious and elegant wines, always vinified separately according to the varieties. For the Verdejo Fermentado en Barrica they also use oak from different cooperages.
Today, the winery exports to more than 15 countries and has also introduced Sauvignon blanc and Viura to its catalogue of white wines.
