López de Heredia Viña Tondonia

D. Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta began a process of wine production, once the Bordeaux businessmen had returned to their country; for this reason Rafael decided to perforate the Calado, to obtain an underground space in which to stack the barrels in which to begin the ageing of his wines. Already at the time of the closure of the French borders, in 1892,
Tradition and conviction: centuries-old attributes
At Lopez de Heredia, the winemaking process is a family heritage that is passed down from generation to generation; it is a mystique present in a daily work, rooted in the perenniality of tradition and in the deep conviction of the validity and validity of the family methods.
In order to obtain the highest quality wines, it is necessary to have one's own agricultural heritage. For this reason, between 1913-1914, Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta planted Viña Tondonia, giving rise to the winery's best known product. Viña Tondonia is a beautiful vineyard of more than 100 hectares, located on the right bank of the river Ebro, where the most typically Riojan grape varieties are grown.

Description of Viña Gravonia White Wine Crianza
Viña Gravonia is the emblematic dry white wine of the López de Heredia winery. This is a 4-year-old reserve white wine that is bottled unfiltered after being clarified only with egg whites.
Viña Gravonia is one of the most sought-after whites from Rioja at an international level, above all due to its ageing capacity and the revaluation of the prices of this reference of the winery. The balance of this wine is the key to its success, an almost impossible mixture of fresh fruit combined with candied citrus, ripe seed fruit (quince and reineta apple), dried flowers and herbal teas, and finally the creamy and spicy contribution of the oak ageing.
