Descripción de Viña Ardanza ReservaDescription of Viña Ardanza Reserva

One of the most renowned red wines in Spain. A very complicated vintage, with irregular maturities where the work of plot selection and selective harvests were the key to obtaining a wine of exceptional quality once again this year. Viña Ardanza is one of those few wines that is always ready to drink from the moment it is launched (not in vain it remains in the cellar for 7 or 8 years until it reaches the market), until decades later if the ageing conditions are suitable. Among its fundamental qualities we find the balance, silkiness and power of a great emblem of Rioja wines. One of the keys to its versatility is that it is one of the classic Rioja wines with the highest percentage of Garnacha in its blend, albeit from vines over 50 years old. It tops the list of the most popular wines in the €20 range, which can be paired with roast lamb, red meat, big game, highly seasoned fish stews and cured or smoked cheeses. It is also one of the perfect wines to drink at barbecues with friends.

Elaboración Viña Ardanza ReservaMaking notes Viña Ardanza Reserva

Notas del Viñedo

The Tempranillo (80%) comes from our farms La Cuesta and Montecillo, 30 years old, in FuenMayor and ashtray. La Garnacha (20%) comes from Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Low). This farm (70 ha) has unbeatable conditions for the cultivation of this variety and is planted on a very poor, covered with boulders, which offers us a grape of great varietal typicity, very rich in aromas and pleasant and fine structure . The vintage of these plots began in mid-October. The grape was collected by hand and transported in refrigerated trucks to the cellar.

Making notes

In March 2011, the selected wines went to Barrel, initiating their aging separately: the Tempranillo for 36 months, with six manual and in American oak of 4 years of average age and the Garnacha for 30 months, with 5 manual trades In 2 and 3 wines barrels. The final coupage was bottled in May 2015. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out naturally. The malolactic fermentation concluded at the end of the year.

Climatología

A very favorable climatology, with an excellent vegetative and sanitary vineyard state until the end of the cycle and very moderate production returns due to a slight flow in bloom.
