The Winery
Viñas del Vero

Viñas del Vero owes its name to a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its ravines, gorges and canyons.
With vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo), together with others of different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir) they produce wines that entered the market in 1990.
Currently, Viñas de Vero is the leading winery in the Somontano appellation in terms of production volume and quality.

Description of Secastilla
Secastilla, from Viñas del Vero, offers the purest expression of northern Garnacha and mountain viticulture, as well as the finesse typical of vines grown in the northernmost part of the Somontano D. O., in the Secastilla valley, which were planted in the 1940s.
It offers a marked typicality of varietal aromas complemented by subtle toasts and a perceptible minerality on the palate.
Awarded in the 7th edition of the Grenaches du Monde competition, it has been distinguished with the Gold Medal for Secastilla 2015.
It has been chosen best red wine in Spain, Best Grenache and Best Grenache of Aragon in the International Wine Challenge 2017, as well as Gold Medal in the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2018 and Gold Medal in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018.
