Protos

In addition to being the most visited winery in Ribera del Duero, Protos is one of the pioneers in the area. In fact, in 1982, it was Protos who ceded its "Ribera del Duero" brand to the Regulatory Council of the D.O. The winery has managed to create its own identity as a reference in the area, which it has also managed to capture in its wines from Rueda and its wines are recognised as a reference in both areas.

Description of Protos 27

Protos 27 is a tribute to the 11 visionaries who founded Protos in 1927, the first winery in Ribera del Duero and the one that gave the name to the Denomination of Origin. As a monovarietal Tempranillo red wine, it was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels produced by the renowned Protos Winery. Aging for 16 months in barrels plus 12 more months in bottle, which results in a fresh and elegant wine, with a wide range of nuances on the nose and where the fruit provided by Tempranillo is it links with the tertiary aromas that appear throughout the aging process. Protos 27 is a classic wine from the Ribera del Duero, with a complexity and harmony typical of Protos Winery .
