At the end of the 1980s Jose Maria Ruiz realised his dream of creating a winery to produce wines in the heart of the Ribera del Duero. On the slopes of Carraovejas next to the Castillo de Peñafiel, what was then a modest winery was born and in 1991, its first vintage, it harvested just 70,000 kg of wine....

El Anejón de la Cuesta de las Liebres is an aged red wine made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tinto Fino grape varieties by the Pago de Carraovejas winery in Peñafiel, with the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin. Anejón de la Cuesta de las Liebres has been aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and clarified with natural egg white. El Anejón is a powerful, elegant, well-structured and balanced red wine. Perfect for pairing with Roasts, Cured Cheeses and Iberian Sausages.

Notas del Viñedo

The terraces of the plot of Anejón welcome the Valley of Carraovejas. It is a strong sun-to-minded, with privileged views of Peñafiel Castle. Here we practice a very characteristic viticulture, in one of the ES - examples of vineyards on terraces that exist in D.O. Ribera del Duero.
