The Winery

Lustau

Cathedral-like wineries, with high ceilings, thick walls, large windows and immaculate terracotta floors that maintain a stable temperature and humidity to favour the special microclimate that Jerez wines need.

Lustau is the only winery that makes wines in the three cities of the Marco: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

The vineyards receive around 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, accompanied by relatively high rainfall (600 litres per square metre on average per year). The landscape of the area is mostly made up of hills of very white limestone soil, known as "albariza". Its uniqueness is due to the fact that this area was under the sea thousands of years ago.

All this together with a great team of master coopers, master blenders, oenologists and field team add to its 120 years of experience a unique know-how in the area.

Notas del Viñedo

Bodegas Lustau has two vineyards in the framework of Jerez, the vineyard Montegilillo, of albarizalands, very appropriate for the cultivation of Palomino grape, from which he gets the musts for the elaboration of chamomiles, the fine, amontillades and odoros. And Viña Las Cruces, close to the coast, with sandy soils where Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez cultivate, intended for the elaboration of sweet wines. The landscape of the area is mainly constituted by Hills of Limestone Limestone, called "Albariza". His uniqueness is because this area was under the sea thousands of years ago. To a lesser extent appear areas of bar and sands in areas close to the coast.
