The Winery
Lustau
Cathedral-like wineries, with high ceilings, thick walls, large windows and immaculate terracotta floors that maintain a stable temperature and humidity to favour the special microclimate that Jerez wines need.
Lustau is the only winery that makes wines in the three cities of the Marco: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
The vineyards receive around 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, accompanied by relatively high rainfall (600 litres per square metre on average per year). The landscape of the area is mostly made up of hills of very white limestone soil, known as "albariza". Its uniqueness is due to the fact that this area was under the sea thousands of years ago.
All this together with a great team of master coopers, master blenders, oenologists and field team add to its 120 years of experience a unique know-how in the area.

Description of Lustau Palo Cortado Peninsula
Lustau Palo Cortado Península is a generous wine produced by Bodegas Lustau in Jerez de la Frontera. This Palo Cortado combines the finesse and delicacy of an Amontillado with the body and richness of an Oloroso. Aged in Jerez de la Frontera in the winery of the Empress Eugenia. Aged in American oak barrels, in the traditional system of solera and criaderas, this Palo Cortado combines the delicacy of an Amontillado with the body and richness of an Oloroso. With marked countersunk aroma and shades of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate; in the mouth it is dry and concentrated, with a long and elegant finish. In August 2012 Robert Parker Jr. himself awarded it 96 points in his publication The Wine Advocate.Ideal pairing
