Rafael Palacios is an absolute icon in Spanish wine and more specifically in the field of white wines. In Valdeorras, in the Bibei Valley area, he makes some of the best Godellos in Spain. Acclaimed by prescribers and consumers alike, his whites from small, lost Godello vineyards perfectly portray the angular, Atlantic terroir of the O Bolo area.

Clean and elegant, straw-colored with green trim.

Smell

Aromas nobles, which transmits its aromatic intensity from the expression of plants such as fennel, gorse and delicate flower remember chestnut, with citrus notes and an attractive souvenir of wet rock.

Taste

Manifests is great attack, but cool at the same time voluptuous, fat, which melts into a complex and fruity step. Its end is marked by saline minerality of its soil which gives personality and character of great wine.

Louro do Bolo is made with 100% own vineyards of small Godello plots with an average age of around 25 years, on sandy soils of granite and clay sediments. Rafa Palacios focuses his viticulture work on traditional methods, minimising modern treatments and conducts, and of course, managing the vineyard in an ecological way. The result is a wine that expresses the terroir of the O Bolo area, in a Godello with a saline and Atlantic profile, refreshing and angular. The distinctly mineral and citrus finish makes it ideal for pairing with shellfish, high quality seafood, and dishes with sharp edges and a certain acidity such as Nikkei cuisine.

Notas del Viñedo

Elaborated with grapes of our own vineyards, small plots of the Godello variety of an average age of 25 years, located at an altitude above 600 meters and cultivated on sandy granite floors and sandy soils with clay sedimentations. These plots are located in the municipality of O Bolo, on the Chandoir Pedanies, Lentelllais, Outartegos and Santa Cruz do Bolo.

Making notes

The main work in viticulture is the conduct of these vineyards towards a traditional and ecological work method, free of aggressive treatments for the plant and its soil. As a result, the expression of the microclimate of or bolus and its sandy granite soil, take prominence in the "terroir" profile of wine, thus highlighting minerality and its saline character. The must ferment in Foudres of 35 HL. French oak and remains in breeding on their fine lias for 4 months until their bottling.
