Descripción de Laus ReservaDescription of Laus Reserva

Laus Reserva red wine with D. O. Somontano, is made by Laus wineries with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Aged in new French oak barrels for 13 months. Ruby red color, intense on the nose and fruity flavors of the grape on the palate, the barrel aging offers chocolate and spices hints. Very good value for money. From Enbotella we recommend pairing it with game meats, cheeses, cold cuts or delicious scrambled eggs with ham.

Elaboración Laus ReservaMaking notes Laus Reserva

Notas del Viñedo

The LAUS vineyard is distributed through various areas of the Somontano, where the different soils, located at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level, provide special qualities to the grape. They are south of D.O. Somontano, in the place known as Las Almunietas, characterized by limestone and stony floors, with plaster presence in some cases and a frank texture. This type of soils stand out for a low fertility level, which implies limited production.

Making notes

The grape ferments at controlled temperature after a 48-hour FRIO preterior maceration. For a better extraction of aromas and polyphenols, dropped at certain moments and pigeage (soft hat tread). After malolactic fermentation, we carry the wine to new French oak barrels from different forests and tonerías. The barrel stay period was 13 months to achieve the total integration of the grape with the contribution of the wood by means of oxygen.

Climatología

The climate of the area is continental Mediterranean, with a low annual pluvometry (400 mm). Therefore, small controlled irrigations ensure the quality of the grape, even in the driest summers, while decreasing the variability between vintages.
