The Winery

Viñas del Vero

Viñas del Vero owes its name to a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its ravines, gorges and canyons.

With vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo), together with others of different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir) they produce wines that entered the market in 1990.

Currently, Viñas de Vero is the leading winery in the Somontano appellation in terms of production volume and quality.

Descripción de La Miranda de SecastillaDescription of La Miranda de Secastilla

Miranda de Secastilla from Viñas del Vero is made with a curious 'coupage' of Garnacha, Syrah and the native Parraleta variety. The climatic conditions of this vintage resulted in a wine with intense aromas and marked flavors, with pleasant textures. It is recommended to pair with both red meats and fish, cheeses and desserts. This vintage also has a new image.

Notas del Viñedo

Vineyards located at the northeast end of the Somontano. The relative altitude and the special orientation of these vineyards make it an area with many hours of insoliation, which favors the ripening of the fruit.

Making notes

8 months aging in French oak barrels.

Climatología

The agricultural year 2016 can be defined as dry and temperate. The rainfall was less than the average of the decade and were distributed irregularly.
