Situated in San Vicente, in the heart of the Rioja Alta region

San Vicente de la Sonsierra is in a privileged location for the cultivation of vines. A region located under the Cantabria and Toloño mountains, which protect it from the cold Cantabrian winds, and with the Ebro river to the south to provide the humidity it needs.

This region is home to the best old Tempranillo vineyards in La Rioja Alta. These are goblet-trained vineyards grown in very poor soils, which significantly reduces their production and increases the quality of the clusters.

Bodega Hacienda López de Haro has a network of trusted small vine growers. The quality of its vineyards, the love for our land and the feeling of belonging to a common project.

Tasting notes

Look

Cherry red with brick tones on the rim and middle layer.

Smell

Balance of spices, vanilla and ripe fruit that is in perfect harmony. Background notes include snuff and cocoa, as a result of its evolution in the barrel.

Taste

Its essence is the subtlety and elegance. Light character, is a very round and enveloping wine. With great stay in the mouth for its good acidity, fresh leaves and balsamic memories

Selection of vineyards with an average age of 30 years of low production settled on poor land on the terraces of the Ebro, in the area of the Sonsierra.

Making notes

Maceration for 10 days and controlled fermentation at 25º. Made in cubes of 30,000 kg. Aging of 20 months in French and American oak barrels. Quarterly transparenists are carried out.

Climatología

Add excellent quality marked by a very dry summer and high temperatures, with a strong storm with hail at the end of August. The advance of vintage favored that losvinos obtained enjoy a good balance between acidity and alcohol grade.
