Marqués de Riscal

Marqués de Riscal is one of the original Rioja wineries. It has been making classic Riojas since 1858, but it has also been able to adapt to the avant-garde and, above all, to produce wines capable of transcending the passage of time. Today it controls more than 1500 hectares of vineyards in Rioja and owns the largest vineyard in Rueda with more than 200 hectares.

This wine has been elaborated with Tempranillo and Graciano grapes, coming from the old vineyard that surrounds Torrea's Estate, place where Marques de Riscal's cellars are currently located. It is a different style from the wines that Marqués de Riscal has been elaborating traditionally. With a more modern profile, more fruity and less balsamic character, with a shorter aging in French oak, and a shorter period of aging in bottle.

Old vineyard surrounding the train of Torrea, place where the facilities of the Marques de Riscal wineries are currently located. The terrain is the classic Arcillocalcalcáreo soil of Rioja Alava that has historically provided the best qualitative results.

Making notes

Fermentation in small wood tubs Allier, at a temperature that does not exceed 25ºC with the intention of maximum preserving the fruity characters.
