Enate is one of the leading and driving wineries in the Somontano area of Aragon. A historic winery with decades of experience working the vineyards in the Barbastro area and managing to perfect the identity of its reds with Bordeaux varieties and probably some of the best whites in Aragon.

Look

Deep and intense garnet red.

Smell

Presents an extensive and complex array aromatic in which blend harmoniously memories of red fruits, balsamic and spicy notes (eucalyptus, clove) together with the flavors characteristic of orejones and nuances of cocoa and roast from the barrel .

Taste

His palate is broad, fleshy and is lined with sweet tannins impeccable. The finish is very persistent and gives us hints of Chinese ink and leather.

Enate Merlot Merlot Red Wine is a monovarietal Merlot grape wine aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, very serious, a perfect representation of ENATE's Merlot-Merlot line. It presents a wide and complex aromatic range in which the aromas of red fruits, balsamic and spicy notes are harmoniously combined. We recommend to pair it with Stews, Red meats or Game meats.

Notas del Viñedo

The winery vineyard, some 500 own hectares, is divided by the municipalities of High Salas, Low Salas, Creenzán and Basbastro. Located about 600 meters of altitude on little fertile limestone floors.

Making notes

Vintage Manual made on September 10. Fermentation was developed at 28ºC and maceration with skins lasted for a month. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. Parenting of 13 months of foster and subsequent stabilization in deposit until their bottling.

Climatología

After a rather dry winter, spring was the warmest and least rainy since 2006, and the month of May was one of the driest and most hot in our countrys history. The flowering dates advanced two weeks with respect to other years and the pace of vegetative growth was higher than usual. However, the month of June arrived with rains that were for the plant an authentic puff of freshness. Precipitation continued during the month of July along with high temperature records, on July 7 as the highest temperature in Aragon since climatic statistics are collected. When everything seemed to indicate that we would have an extraordinarily early vintage, the exceptional storm of July 31 radically changed the water profile of the vintage and ended up placing the beginning of the vintage on August 11 for the most advanced plots. It was August 24 when the vintage rhythm intensified,
