Description of Bardos Viñedos de Altura
In the hardest and coldest area of Ribera del Duero, at an altitude of over 940 metres, between the Burgos villages of Fuentemolinos and Moradillo de Roa. Here lies the Páramo de Corcos, the most surprising and unknown region of Ribera, a plain of ten thousand hectares where only the bravest know how to work the land in extreme conditions all year round. They are the true Bards of wine, a collection of wines is born in honour of all the men and women who dedicate their lives to the vineyard. Here, only the strongest vineyards are able to survive the extremely dry summers and endlessly long and severe winters to offer us the most desirable grapes in the entire appellation. The grapes from which Bodegas Bardos produces this collection of wines with soft tannins, elegant and very fresh. Bardos Romantica Crianza 2018 comes from low-production vineyards, selected in the area of Páramo de Corcos and its surroundings, in the towns of Moradillo de Roa, Fuentemolinos and Castrillo de la Vega. Sandy loam soils with pebbles on the surface and layers of clay at depth. 14 months in French and Eastern European oak barrels of various uses.
