Smell

Slightly spicy nose with hints of red berries in ornate seasoning with fine woodworking tips.

Taste

Elegant, with an extremely elegant attack, firm palate, finishing with great greasiness. In mouth denotes a high purity with outstanding aromas of fruit at the right point of ripeness.

Alión is the youngest son of the famous Vega-Sicilia winery, the most renowned Spanish winery in the world. Alión is made only with Tempranillo (called Tinto Fino in the Ribera del Duero area) and is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels plus 18-20 months in bottle. The barrels in which it is aged represent a great investment for the firm Vega Sicilia as only new barrels are used and, once used, they are not reused.

Making notes

The harvest is collected by hand. The grapes are transported in boxes of 12 kilograms to the cellar, where the second selection is made before proceeding to its entry into fermentation deposits.

Climatología

Between 25 and 30 years of age. They are soils with good drainage, deep, with alternation of thick and fine materials along with quarry grands that dragged the Douro.
