Description of 12 Lunas Tinto

12 Lunas Tinto is one of the three wines produced by Wineries El Grillo and La Luna within a recent project (started in 2007) planned in the town of Barbastro, Huesca. Within this region, the soils vary between calcareous or clayey, but always within an average sustained height of 350 meters. 12 Lunas tinto is a red wine elaborated with coupage of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in barrel of French oak for 9 months, of 2º and third use. We highlight 12 Lunas roundness and its pairing, as it makes it a perfect wine to drink with a good roast chicken.

As they reach the optimum period, the Tempranillo Grapes, Syrah, Garnachay Cabernet Sauvignon, are harvested and fermented stainless steel tanks at a temperature ranges between 25ºC and 29ºC. Subsequently, macerations that last from 2 to 4 weeks ago, at the same time that the fermentation is performed. Once finished, the wines pass French oak abarks of 2nd and 3rd use of 225 liter capacity. The months in barrel depend on washing and the vintage, being 9 months the time midday aging. Once the aging is finished, it is proceeded to be coupage of the different varieties and a natural unaclarification by gravity, to leave the vinobrillant before bottling.
